Itinerary

Night 1

  • Starts journey toward Burimari from Kallyanpur Bus terminal.
  • After immigration, continue journey to Jaigaon border from Changrabandha.
  • Take Breakfast: On the way
  • Arrive at Phuentsholing Bhutan.

Day 1

Arrival in Phuentsholing

  • Arrival and meet up at Phuentsholing
  • Proceed directly to the immigration to process permit
  • Start the travel to Thimphu once permit is ready
  • Hotel check in upon arrival in Thimphu

Night 2

  • Take rest
  • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2

Thimphu

  • After breakfast, sightseeing of Thimphu.

Places to Visit:

  • Kuensel Phodrang – world’s largest sitting buddha statue
  • Takin Reserve – wildlife reserve for Takin, Bhutan’s National Animal
  • Taschi Chhoe Dzong – seat of Bhutan’s gov’t and Royal offices
  • Memorial Chorten- a monument built in 1974 to honor the 3rd King of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (1928-1972)
  • Local market

Night 3

  • Take rest
  • Overnight stay at hotel

Day 3

Thimphu – Punakha

  • After Breakfast, explore to Punakha
  • En route, stop at Dochula Pass
  • See a 360 degree panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain range.

Places to Visit:

  • Punakha Dzong – located on the island of Pho Chu (male river) Mo Chu (female river). The Dzong was built to serve as the religious and administrative seat of the region.
  • Punakha Suspension Bridge
  • Explore other places in Punakha Town

Night 4

  • Take rest
  • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 4

Punakha – Chelela Pass – Paro

  • After breakfast, Start travelling to Paro.
  • Visit Chelela Pass – the highest memorable point in Thimphu. A great place to see the view of Jhomolhari, the highest peak in Bhutan.
  • Hotel Check –Upon arrival in Paro

Places to Visit:

  • National Museum –also known as Ta Dzong and located just above Paro Dzong, in an ancient building that used to be the watchtower
  • Ugyen Pelri Palace –a Royal place built around 1930
  • Rinpung Dzong – built in the year 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the first spiritual and temporal ruler of Bhutan

Night 5

  • Take rest
  • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5

Paro (Tiger’s Nest)

  • After breakfast, start pilgrimage hike to Taktsang Goemba – one of Bhutan’s most sacred monuments.
  • After the trek, visit Kyichu Lhakhang.
  • Back to Hotel

Night 6

  • Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 6

Paro – Phuentsholing

  • After breakfast, travel back to Phuentsholing.
  • Completing the immigration formalities, starts journey to Changrabandha border from Jaigaon.
  • Reached in Burimari and travel toward Dhaka.

Night 7

  • Overnight journey.
  • End of Bhutan travel..
